...or not to be

Howl's Moving Castle fanart, bookverse! I just read the book (and its sequel) for the first time (I know, late right?). I love the movie, but Miyazaki's designs just don't fit with doing fanart of the book.

And there's very little fanart for HMC that isn't derived from the movie anyway...

The domestic cast of HMC! The image of Howl pulling a Hamlet is one that wouldn't leave me alone, so.

(you can tell I got bored with it closer I got to finishing it, haha SRY)

Great picture! And you are right, there is too little fanart about the book. And it's a great book indeed!!! I'm just reading "Castle in the air" so its never too late to do it ;). And btw Michael looks great!

It's so rare to see fanart for Howl's Moving Castle that isn't based on scenes from the movie! I appreciate the fact that there are at least some people out there who appreciate the book just as much as they appreciate the movie c: This piece is simply inspiring and makes me want to work even harder to be a better artist. Drawing my favorite scenes from books with as much ease as you seem to be able to is a dream of mine... Though if I try to draw all my favorite HMC book scenes I might end up with a complete graphic novel... c: Thank you for sharing such beautiful art and for being such an inspiration!

Thank you so much for doing this, because I haven't seen any really original fanart for this book either!
I thought the movie was very different from the book.
Love this portrayal!
(And Michael's face :XD: )

Sophie's face is hysterical. The detail on the clothes is really nice, as well!

Yes, yes! That's Howl in a nutshell, isn't it? All that drama... =D
I'm not sure, wasn't there this sort of scene in the book? I think I have a vague recollection.

Oh, and for some reason everyone (I mean it!) draws Howl with blue eyes.
Jones clearly states that he has "glass-green eyes" (in Sophie's words).
I say, aren't people weird like that?
